About Author
Gary’s legal career began at the U.S. Justice Department where he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C. where he was twice awarded with the Department of Justice’s Victim of Crime Award and the recipient of the U.S. Attorney’s Special Achievement Award. His tenure at the Justice Department was followed by a partnership at one of the oldest and largest firms in the country.
A noted author and commentator, Gary sits on the board of several non-profit organizations and is the founder of the Collins Foundation, Inc. The Collins Foundation, Inc. invests in initiatives that improve educational opportunity and strengthen community organizations in Connecticut, with a special emphasis on individuals from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds. He is also the creator and President of the Connecticut Basketball Conference, the largest youth basketball League in New England.
Gary received his Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1991. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1988 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
He lives in Bridgeport, Connecticut and is the proud father of two sons, Grant and Harrison.
